Coordinating Directly with Owner's Equipment Vendor + Building Facilities for State-of-the-Art Diagnostic Imaging
Our team coordinated directly with the MRI vendor to ensure proper machine layout, floor plate installation, and structural integrity. The new equipment required an RF shield enclosure and structural modifications to support the additional weight of the MRI and mechanical equipment. Significant infection control measures and select off-hour work mitigated disruptions to the occupied adjacencies. This was especially true for the testing facility located above the MRI floor where even typical drywall, framing, and drilling noise was a concern.
The project team also verified that the existing roof structure could support the weight load of the new chiller. We worked closely with building engineers when the crane was needed for chiller placement, and for the removal of a façade window to bring in the MRI into the building, ensuring everyone’s safety and minimizing impacts. This included adjustments to parking and building access as required.
