Animal Emergency + Specialty Center

Project Details

Aldrich was hired as the design-builder for the construction of a new specialty clinic and emergency animal hospital buildout including ICU, treatment rooms, surgery, isolation, x-ray, ultrasound, and CT imaging equipment. Led by George Ward, Aldrich brought in architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design teams to support early schematic design through project completion.

The original intent of the building under construction by the landlord/developer was a concrete tilt-up building for industrial use with a structural slab and large roll-up doors. NVA leased the entire building and while it was under construction, Aldrich coordinated with the building landlord on infrastructure requirements to reduce the overall cost. This included the design and location of underslab plumbing to minimize slab trenching, additional structural support for high-efficiency HVAC systems, and conduits under the foundations for a backup generator.
